Keep a close eye and ear on your little slumberer from any room in the house with the BebeSounds Flat Panel Video and Sound Monitor. The monitor's large 5.5-inch color display monitor gives you a clear, sharp picture, and its slim, lightweight design means you can place or mount it just about anywhere in your home. The high-resolution portable camera has a built-in light sensor that automatically turns on the night vision feature when there is no light detected. You can also opt to use it as just a sound monitor by turning the screen off. The monitor operates on a frequency of 900 MHz, which means it will not interfere with 2.4 GHz cordless telephones, microwaves and wireless networks. Requires 6 "AA" batteries, not included.

Interference makes this product useless

Reviewed by K. Snowden, 2010-02-22

I received the Bebe Sounds Flat Panel LCD Video Monitor as a shower gift and it was totally useless. The interference with our wireless router and cordless phones was so bad that we literally could not see or hear anything. The product is also very bulky, unlike newer video monitor designs. So, I started researching video baby monitors and finally decided to purchase the Safety 1st Prism Color Video Baby Monitor and I am very happy with my purchase.

great monitor

This is a terrific monitor. We loved it so much, we bought a second one! Seldom has any interference and has a large screen with a clear picture. No complaints and a terrific value- we paid under $140 for each one by watching the prices. Much better than the first BebeSounds monitor we had that was 2.4 gHz.

Don't purchase if you will use more than 30ft away!

We are sending this back tomorrow. We purchased the Uniden wireless camera for $40 less, and it's much better. The video had white lines going through the display, popping audio, and would loose it's signal every once and a while. This device is plain unaccepable.

At first, I thought that this device was as it good as it was going to get. WRONG. This is the worst it gets. Once we purchased and installed the Uniden 2.4Ghz set ($139 Sam's Club, or $169 Amazon), I saw that I was dealing with something that could be better.

Perfect up until 4wks of use...

I received this camera a few weeks before my baby was born. I absolutely loved it. I set them up and turned them off to wait for my bundle. Well when the baby came home this camera was everything I wanted it to be. After about 4wks of use the sound quit working but the video was fine. We still use the moniter but now we have to keep peeking at it to see the baby instead of relying on hearing him too. I tracked down a customer service number (888-232-6476) to see if we can get a replacement or something. Customer service was awesome and they will send a replacement receiver as soon as they come in (they are backordered).

I'm only giving this 3 stars because the sound died after such a short time, but overall I do like this system.

Short term - cool, mid to long term - rip off

Every baby monitor from every manufacturer we've tried have all stopped working in 6-9 months. Saw this one and figured with the LCD screen, we might have better luck, HA!. First one stopped working after one hour. The second was dead out of the box. After 6 weeks of waiting, the replacement worked. After 6 months, the reception got worse, now the picture is intermittent and you have to cycle the power to see it again. The blue LEDs on this thing are bright enough to land an airplane. Even with a piece of duct tape on them it still lights up the room. We've spent $$$ on multiple monitors from all the different manufacturers and they are ALL junk. You're better off to install a wired CCTV system in your house, in the long it will be less money and far more reliable. Amazon should be removing all of these junk manufacturers from their site.
